Cheap Wedding Flowers
Cheap Wedding Flowers
So I have been planning my wedding which is in July of 2009 and anyone who has planned a wedding knows how detail oriented and frustrating it can be. My latest endeavor was to find those wonderful flowers for that special day. I started my research on the computer and discovered their is nothing wonderful about shopping for wedding flowers, especially the price. Who actually pays over a $1,000 for flowers. I was ready to just pick them from peoples gardens. I asked around to those couples who were once in my situation and I got the same answer from everyone. They actually paid those outrageous prices.
I them decided, “I can make the bouquets” but them remembered I also needed corsages and boutonnieres, so the project would be just a little time consuming. I was at a loss. I them got a great idea. Where did my father go for flowers all those Valentines days? The local grocery store, and that is where I headed.
I chose to go to Wegmans. I still had no idea if they did them and how the cost would be, but I took that chance. I called ahead and made an appointment. Now I was told from the beginning from all those married couple before me not to get roses because they will be to expensive, so I stayed away from them and asked about daisies instead. My soon to be husband came along for the journey and to aggravate me insisted on the roses. The friendly florist lady told me she would add up the costs for both packages, one in daisies and the other roses.
As we waited for our estimated damages in cost we figured the range would be from $600-$800 because remember this is not a florist, but a grocery store. After ten minutes of waiting we received our price. I was completely shocked, but for the good. The daisies were $433 and the roses were $388. Can you believe it? So I got the roses. To all those people who told me they would be more, they weren’t.
To all those soon to be brides try your local grocery store and keep trying until you find one that does flowers. It’s worth it.
Thanks and congrats on this weekend. I’m sure you are so excited.
