Last night I discovered a product, called Paperclay which has been around for awhile. It is a clay product that has paper and fifers in it. Most paperclay has to be fired at usually higher temperatures then regular clay, but I fund a paperclay that needs no firing. Creative Paperclay is a name brand product, that is a non-toxic modeling material. It can be sculpted, molded or shaped, and best of all it air dries and requires no baking. Once the clay is dry to a hard finish, it can be carved, or sanded, or painted.
