There is an fairly new art gallery that opened about 2 years ago that I recently discovered and was immediately impressed. The Cosmopolitan Art gallery is located at 928 Main Street in Buffalo, NY and runs on a 40% / 60% consignment basis.
I first heard about this gallery through the local Buffalo, NY art paper called The Art Voice. The gallery advertised an open call to submit art for their Halloween art show. I submitted my Web site and the art coordinator chose two paintings that fit their creepy crawly themed show.
I dropped my pieces off to the gallery this weekend which allowed me to see the gallery in person. It had an underground art feeling and was ran by all volunteers who cared very much about the arts. They had a wide variety of art including paintings, photography, and sculpture that ranged in a variety of prices. It was a great gallery for emerging artist to get a start and for those art collectors who want a piece of art that is different from the normal fruit and bowl paintings.
That Halloween Art Show is on October 31, 08 at 8:00 p.m.
