Spice up the Velveeta! 

I am a huge fan of homemade macaroni and cheese with the different varieties of bubbly cheese and the crispy crust on top. I try to make this savory meal for dinner, but not everyone has the time to make this dish from scratch. When I have a craving for the cheesy meal, I try to spice up the Velveeta brand because it seems to be the closest to homemade. I take the mac and cheese and add different ingredients to it to make it more flavorful. I first got this idea by reading the different recipes on the Velveeta box. I take these recipes and change them according to the ingredients I like. I also try to use healthier ingredients.

First I cook up some lean ground beef and drain all the grease. I then add the macaroni to the beef, add a cup of skim milk, and a half cup of ketchup to the mix. I bring this to a boil, reduce the flame, and let it simmer for about 25 minutes. Once macaroni is tender, I add the cheese sauce, lots of diced tomatoes, and chopped scallions. I add a pinch of pepper and it’s ready to eat.
