Easy Pasta Sauce!

Easy Pasta Sauce!

I came from a strong Italian family and making pasta and sauce was and still is a huge part of our family. Each woman in my family has my Mama Millie’s original red sauce recipe. We all learned how to make sauce from this recipe and took it to make our own variations from it.

Making sauce can be a long process and I know that I don’t always have the time to make sauce from scratch. When I have the time I always start from scratch, but when I don’t I make a semi homemade version.

Start by…

Boil water and cook pasta according to directions.

Add 2 cloves diced garlic in a separate pan with olive oil and cook about 1 minute.

Add diced onions to garlic pan and cook until tender.

Add a small can of tomato sauce in that same pan.

Next put a can of crushed tomatoes in the pan and stir.

Add parsley, basil, salt and pepper to taste.

Stir cooked pasta in with sauce.

Add parmesan cheese and sprinkle on more parsley on top.

( You can add shrimp, chicken, sausage, or meatballs to the pan. All should be cooked first).
