Chocolate Chex Mix

Chocolate Chex Mix

I loved this little Chex mix snack so much when I was younger. I don’t know what the official name for this snack is, so I decided to call it chocolate Chex mix. I usually ate this snack during the holiday season and have decided to make it this year for my family to enjoy. I got this recipe from recipes.com.

Ingredients…

9 cups Corn Chex®, Rice Chex®, Wheat Chex® or Chocolate Chex® cereal (or combination)

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup butter or margarine

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions…

In a large bowl, measure the cereal and set aside.

In a 1-quart microwavable bowl, stir together chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter.

Microwave uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth.

Stir in vanilla.

Pour mixture over cereal and stir until evenly coated.

Pour into 2-gallon sealable food-storage bag.

Add powdered sugar, seal bag, and shake until coated.

Spread on waxed paper to cool.

Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
