Getting Artwork OUT of a Gallery

Getting Artwork OUT of a Gallery

I never thought that getting a piece of artwork out of an art gallery, would be harder then getting the art in the gallery in the first place. I placed two paintings in an art gallery back in October of 2008 for a Halloween art show. The show was up for about a month and ended the end of November. This is when I started my job of retrieving my paintings back. I left an e-mail asking when the best tie would be to pick up my art. After about 3 days of no response, I decided to call the gallery and I left a message. I even sent my parents out to the gallery to pick up my work since they live in the same city as the gallery and I do not. No response ever came. Since then I have ben doing the repeat task of e-mailing, calling and leaving messages, and I even sent a letter through the mail stating I want to pick up my paintings. The worst part about this is that I still haven’t gotten a response back. No one has called or answered my e-mails and it is January 2009. It has been four months and I am getting frustrated, well I have been frustrated for awhile. I actually got a hold of two other artist that were is the same art show and they too are having the same problem. I am lost for what to do.

Anyone have a suggestion or comment? Have you been in this situation or one like it before? Let me know, I need all the help you can give me.
