Me as an Artist

I have been creating art for some time now. I started drawing when I was just a young girl, but really got into art in high school. I decided from there to go onto art school in college and get a degree in the one thing I love. I also went on to get a Masters and now that I am out, I discovered this career is a hard one to get into. Not only is the really very competitive and based on sales, I am coming into it full force during a time of economic hardship. People are not really thinking about that new piece of art at a time when so many are loosing their jobs and homes. This is making it very difficult for us emerging artists who are new at the game. 

So a little bit about myself… I have painted in all mediums (acrylics, oils, watercolors) but lately I have been using acrylics. I experiment on different surfaces including wood, varieties of paper, and of course canvas. My themes include the fantasy world mixed in with real life evens to create female characters that are surrounded by metaphorical symbols.
