Lambrusco
Lambrusco
Lambrusco is a type of Italian wine that is mainly made with wine grapes. It is also the name of these red wine grape that have been used to make wine for centuries. Now Lambrusco is usually a dry red wine, but several types of sweet Lambrusco were introduced to the United States back in the 1970’s - 1980’s.
I am a huge fan of this wine even though I do not usually like may wines. I enjoy the sweeter version of the wine, that is made by either partial fermentation of the grape or with the addition of the sweeter Ancellotta grapes to the blend. There are so many different brands of Lambrusco wine on the market so when shopping and finding one that you enjoy can be difficult. I recommend Reunite or Giacobazzi which are the sweeter versions of this wine. I can not recommend a dry version of the wine, since I do not like dry wine and am not the best judge on that type. I do recommend asking the workers at the wine or liquor store because they will help you. And don’t be afraid to try different types to see which type you prefer. But I do recommend this Lambrusco wine which is a favorite for many.
