Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

So I am always looking for recipes that are different and unique, that sometimes I forget about the all time favorite and classic dishes. This recipe has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl, and I feel that I am not the only one with this dish on the top of the list. A grilled cheese sandwich is great for the whole family because it is easy to make and children love this recipe. It can be made anytime of the day and only takes about 10 minutes at the most.

Ingredients… for one sandwich

2 slices of bread (usually white, but anything can go)

butter to spread

2 slices of american cheese (can use white or yellow, try using cheddar)

Directions…

Preheat skillet over medium heat.

Spread butter over the top of bread slices.

Place cheese in the center of the pieces.

Place sandwich in skillet.

Cook until golden brown and cheese is melted.

* you can also add a slice or 2 of ham to the top of the cheese for a twist on this classic dish.

Enjoy!
